Remi Wolf - Cinderella

If the shoe fits.

Do you feel like roller skating? You will after hearing “Cinderella” by Remi Wolf. It’s stating the obvious to point out the disco flow of “Cinderella…” but you should really check out the disco flow of “Cinderella.” Between the horns, the electric piano and whistle stabs, all that’s missing is is a rayon suit and John Travolta. Barbarino Tavolta, not the new stuff.

“Cinderella” is impeccably written, and it’s also a complete and total vibe, man. But it’s almost too late in the year to recommend it. You wouldn’t for instance, add this song to a holiday party playlist. Or, maybe you would if you were throwing the most awesome holiday party ever. “Cinderella” is definitely a summer song. More specifically a summer spent with with little parental oversight while living in a suburban cul-de-sac in the ‘70s (see the aforementioned tube socks) song.

I’m far too old now to don roller skates. My knees are too fragile and I’m too frightened of free-fallin’. But I’m not too old to appreciate a roller skating jam like this. So before I have to shelve this recommendation until June 2025, let’s get it out there and onto your playlists. Press play and don’t just listen to “Cinderella,” feel it. Like a Saturday Night Fever.
